Collective Worship is practiced daily at Great Barton. Mrs Ratley leads collective worship for the school and works closely with the children and teachers as well as members of the local churches to deliver collective worship. A typical week is:
Monday - whole school collective worship
Tuesday - "Open the Book" or School Council worship
Wednesday - Church led worship
Thursday - Sing Praise
Friday - Greatness worship (where we celebrate the class achievements)
We use the Imaginor Roots and Fruits materials to support our Worship. We focus on a number of Christian Values across the terms. Please click on the document below to see which values we focus on. We are currently on year "A".
The CWL Team
The CWL (Collective Worship Leaders) team work with Mrs Ratley to help to plan Collective Worship for the school. They offer their ideas for how Collective Worship can be developed; help to lead worship and come up with ideas for the whole school to live out our Christian values in action.
Our team consists of the following children:
Owl Class: Ursa and Raif
Robin Class: Esme and Ewan
Fox Class: Beth and Jackson
Squirrel Class: Lucy and Noah
Badger Class: Eve and Daisy
Hare Class: Arron and Lily
Osprey Class: Leo and Sophie
Our value this half term is respect.
Respect is one of our school's key values #respect
It is important to treat others with respect even if sometimes we do not agree with what they say or the way they behave. We should also treat the things that belong to us and to other people with respect.
Please click on the document below to read some ideas for you and your family to explore on the theme of respect.
Why not try the home-school competition: Who do you respect?
Draw, paint a picture, or take a photograph of your chosen person and make a frame to surround it. On the reverse give 5 reasons why this person is worthy of special respect. Send a photograph of your work into school and we can "hang" it in our Respect Gallery.
Winners will be chosen based on the reasons why their chosen person is worthy of respect rather than "artistic" ability. The closing date for entries is Friday 3rd July 2020. Good luck!
