We are very excited to be one of a handful of Suffolk schools to be part of the pioneering "Our Schools, Our World" initiative. We are working in conjunction with Suffolk County Council to work with Brighton and Hove Council on a transformative whole authority approach to climate change in schools. As one of the pioneering schools in the project, we have received bespoke training for all of our staff, resources to help us to "GREEN" our curriculum and expert support to complete our school's Climate Action Plan. Being one of the key schools means we are part of a project of national significance and we look forward to being involved in this inspirational piece of work. Our school has met the DfE sustainability requirements for the end of 2025 already.
The Our Schools, Our World vision states:
"To use the power of education to advance environmental literacy and social engagement to contribute to a more equitable and sustainable future. We will work with young people, educators, community organisations, the council and relevant partners to promote a just and sustainable county where environmental and social responsibility drive individual, institutional and community choices".
In school, we will be:
Our first focus as part of this project is "Consumption and Waste".
